Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., says if elected president he’d end 2012 executive program to shield young people from deportation.
“It will have to end at some point,” Rubio tells reporters after an event at Saint Anselm College in N.H.
Says “ideal” situation would be for Congress to enact reform
“But if it doesn’t, it will end. It cannot be the permanent policy of the United States”
NOTE:
Program, known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, has protected
~500k young people brought to U.S. illegally as children from
deportation and given them
temporary work permits.
