Lindsey Graham on the Issues [EXCERPT]
Senator
Lindsey Graham of South Carolina announced Monday that he plans to seek
the Republican nomination for president. In his three terms, he has
focused on military
and foreign affairs and developed a reputation for working together
with Senate Democrats. Here are some of Mr. Graham’s stands on important
issues.
Immigration
Mr.
Graham differs from many of his fellow Republican contenders in that he
is a strong proponent of making it possible for immigrants who are in
the country illegally
to become citizens. “If I were president of the United States, I would
veto any bill that did not have a pathway to citizenship,” he told USA
Today, adding: “You would have a long, hard path to citizenship.” He
says Republicans have been losing Hispanic support
because of hostility toward immigrants.
