Biden-Backing $37 Million Nuestro PAC Relaunches to Boost Him With Latinos (Exclusive)
Nuestro PAC — the outside group launched in 2020 to build on the strength of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ robust Latino voter outreach operation — is relaunching for 2024 with plans to boost President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign to the tune of $37 million, The Messenger can exclusively report.
“Joe Biden has been the most consequential president ever for Latinos, delivering on every aspect of their economic well-being, while getting absolutely no credit for it,” said Chuck Rocha, the founder of Nuestro PAC and a former Sanders senior adviser. “So we’re going to tell them everything Joe Biden has done while Donald Trump continues to hit them in the back of the head.”
Winning Democratic presidential campaigns rely on a coalition that includes a large margin from Latino voters. Despite expectations that Republicans would crater with Hispanics after making Trump their leader, he was actually able to grow his support 8 points with the critical voting bloc from 2016 to 2020, according to a Catalist report. A further rightward shift could imperil crucial battlegrounds for Democrats at a time when the GOP is looking to reach more Hispanics in southwest states, like Arizona and Nevada.
The scope of the Nuestro PAC investment includes bilingual digital outreach, mail, and radio programing targeting Latino voters in the battlegrounds of Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Nevada and Wisconsin. The group announced plans to work with “left, right, and center” operatives, including Lincoln Project co-founder Mike Madrid — who led data efforts for the cash flush, insurgent anti-Trump effort led by Republicans and conservatives in 2020 — as a senior adviser.

Rocha said Nuestro PAC’s goal is to help strengthen “obvious weaknesses” Biden had in 2020 with aspects of the Hispanic electorate, something the campaign downplayed for most of the cycle until acknowledging it had “work to do” two months before election day.
