Univision News has announced the dates for its first-ever “Meet the Candidates” conversations with Gov. Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama.

The conversation with Gov. Romney will take place one week from today at 10 p.m. ET on Sept. 19. The conversation with President Obama will take place the following night at 10 p.m. ET on Sept. 20. Both events, co-hosted by Facebook, will focus on Latino-specific issues and will take place in front of a live audience at the University of Miami BankUnited Center Fieldhouse.

Univision invited the candidates to the events after the Commission on Presidential Debates denied the network's request for a fourth, Latino-focused debate moderated by Univision anchors.

In a letter to the Commission last month, Univision president Randy Falco expressed "disappointment on behalf of the millions of Hispanics who do not have a voice in the upcoming presidential debates" and called for a Commission-approved "forum." Janet Brown, executive director of the Commission, told POLITICO that they would not grant Univision its request, and the network struck out on its own. Both candidates agreed to the invitation in late August.
