Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is poised to win big among California Hispanics in the Democratic presidential primary, according to a new poll released Monday by Univision.

The poll, conducted by Latino Decisions, shows 42 percent of Hispanic voters in the state intend to vote for Sanders, while 15 percent favor former Vice President Joe Biden and 14 percent favor former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg.

No other candidate breaks double-digit support from Hispanics in the primary.
California is the biggest of 14 states that will vote Tuesday.
The Latino vote is expected to be decisive in California, where Hispanics account for nearly 40 percent of the population.

Sanders has shown he's the candidate to beat among Latinos, particularly Mexican Americans in the West, with commanding performances among the demographic in Iowa, New Hampshire, and especially Nevada.

Biden performed better among South Carolina Latinos amid a convincing 20-point statewide win.

According to the RealClearPolitics average of polls, Sanders has a 16.7-point lead among all California voters heading into Super Tuesday.

California's primary was moved up to the early March date, in part to give the state's voters a bigger say in the Democratic nomination, as the state is almost certain to vote for the Democratic nominee in the general election.
Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D) is the second-choice candidate for 15 percent of California Hispanic voters, trailing Biden, the second choice for 20 percent of respondents. Sanders and Bloomberg, respectively, are also the second-choice pick for 15 percent each.
The Democratic nominee's down-ballot influence could make a difference in a handful of California House races that flipped from Republican to Democratic in 2018.

Bloomberg performs best among California Hispanics in a head-to-head match-up against President Trump, with a 71-15 percent spread. Sanders and Biden have nearly identical numbers; Biden would beat Trump 71-16 and Sanders 71-18, according to the poll.

The poll was conducted among 808 Hispanic registered voters in California, with 39 percent of the interviews in Spanish and 61 percent in English. It has a margin of error of 3.9 percentage points.
